The things people ask us most. Anything else, ask a bartender or email the events team.
How do I book an event at PubKey NYC?
Use the booking form. Tell us the date, the headcount, and what you're planning, and the events team will come back with availability and pricing. If your date is taken, we'll tell you what's open that night or on nearby nights. Prefer email? Write to [email protected].
Is there a rental fee or a minimum spend?
There's no rental fee. There's no minimum Sunday through Wednesday, or Thursday through Saturday before 6 PM. Thursday through Saturday evenings carry a food and beverage minimum that depends on the room, and December runs higher. Tax and gratuity are added on top. The events team will quote your date through the booking form.
How many people fit, and which room should we book?
The Banquette holds 40 standing or 20 seated. The Attic holds 65 standing, 50 in theater rows, or 40 seated. Book the Attic and the Banquette together for up to 85, or buy out the whole bar for up to 125. Photos of each space are on the booking page.
What food can you serve, and what does it cost?
Everything comes from our own kitchen. Catering trays feed about 25 people each and run $70 to $200 a tray, or your guests can order off the regular menu. Outside food isn't allowed, apart from cake.
Can guests pay for their own drinks, or can I run a tab?
Either works. You can run a tab for the group, cap it at a set amount, or let guests pay as they go, and guests can keep separate tabs. Drink tickets or a hosted first round work too, and they count toward any minimum.
How do I hold the date? Is there a deposit?
There's no deposit. A signed card authorization form holds your date: the events team sends it as a PDF, and you sign it and email it back. That form is the whole agreement, with no separate contract. Please never type card numbers into an email.
Is the space private?
The Attic on its own is semi-private, and it becomes fully private when you add the Banquette or buy out the bar. Half the Attic (the east or west side, about 25 people) is also semi-private. The Banquette is open to the pub, so it's a reserved area rather than a closed room.
Can I see the space before booking?
Yes. Photos of every room are on the booking page, and you're welcome to stop by. Weekdays between 3 and 5 PM are the quietest time for a look. Directions are on the contact page.
Do you do open bars?
Yes, in three tiers priced per guest for two hours: $35, $55, and $75. The whole group has to be on the same package.
Can I bring a cake?
Yes, for a $40 cutting fee. Cake is the only outside food we allow.
What are your hours, and how late can we stay?
We open at 3 PM Monday through Friday and at noon on weekends. We close at 2 AM Sunday through Thursday and at 4 AM on Friday and Saturday. The kitchen runs until 2 AM.
Can we play our own music, or bring a DJ or a band?
In the Attic, yes. Connect a phone to the house PA over Bluetooth, or have your DJ plug into the house system (XLR out). Bands are welcome but need to bring their own sound person. The Banquette has no sound system of its own and hears the pub's music.
Can you reserve a table or area for a small group?
Yes. The Banquette is the spot for smaller groups, with room for 20 seated or 40 standing.
Can we decorate or put up signs?
Yes. Decorations, signs, and banners are all welcome. Keep it light in the Banquette, since it's open to the pub.
Do you have TVs, a screen, or microphones?
Yes. TVs with casting, microphones, and a stage come free with our basic A/V. We don't have a projector.
Can our event be ticketed or open to the public?
Tell the events team what you have in mind when you book, and they'll let you know what works.
Is there a bar in our room?
The Attic doesn't have a bar of its own. We can set up a staffed minibar there, and a full additional bar is available at extra cost.
What's the cancellation policy?
The card on your authorization form is charged only if you don't show up, or if you cancel within a month of the event. The form states the amount, $1,000.
Can you set up tables, chairs, or theater rows? Can we come early?
Yes. Tell us the layout you want and the venue manager will confirm it ahead of the day. Early access for setup, or starting before we open, is decided case by case, so ask the events team.
Can you record or livestream our event?
Yes. Recording is $300 plus $100 an hour, and livestreaming is $450 plus $125 an hour.
When do you need a final headcount?
We're flexible. Just keep us posted as your numbers change.
Can a brand sponsor the drinks?
Yes, but outside bottles aren't allowed. The brand buys its product through us or funds a tab, and our bartenders pour it.
How do I pay?
By card on the night, or by invoice.
